2nd Class stepped back in time for our very own Titanic Day, and what an unforgettable experience it was! From the moment the children arrived this morning, they fully embraced their roles as passengers aboard the RMS Titanic. Each child received their own boarding ticket and was randomly allocated a passenger class, adding an extra layer of excitement and realism to the day.
Throughout the day, we remained in character as we explored every aspect of the Titanic. The children learned about how the ship was built, the incredible scale of its design, and the luxurious rooms and interiors that made it so famous. We examined original menus from onboard the ship, discussed the logistics of life at sea, and compared the experiences of passengers travelling in different classes.

We also explored the personal stories behind the Titanic disaster, including the story of Eva Hart and the powerful survivor testimonies that have helped us understand what happened on that tragic night. The children engaged in thoughtful discussions about who may have been responsible for the sinking and considered the many factors that contributed to the disaster.
One of the most special parts of the day was seeing how completely immersed the children became in the experience. They loved remaining in character throughout the day and truly felt as though they were part of history. The excitement, curiosity, and empathy shown by the class was incredible to see.
Titanic Day was not only a fantastic opportunity for learning across History, Drama, Literacy, and Geography, but also a chance for the children to create memories together that will be treasured for years to come. It was a truly wonderful day in 2nd Class!
